Question

I have recently been diagnosed with diabetes. If I stop instantly from having any kind of sweets/drinks etc, would my glucose count improve? Would I have withdrawal symptoms? Is it dangerous to do so?

Answers

Your glucose count should improve if you decrease sugary drinks and sweets, but I would substitute sugar-free beverages and liquids so that you do not decrease your overall fluid consumption. I doubt that you will have "withdrawal", but you might miss them.

I think you should consult a dietitian. You need a total meal plan that will meet your lifestyle and blood glucose goals.
