    • August 4, 2009    On July 31, the FDA approved Onglyza, a new drug for type 2 diabetes. Onglyza (generic name saxagliptin) belongs to a class of drugs called DPP-4 inhibitors.It is taken once daily and is to be used in combination with diet and exercise.
